European Science for Policy Workshops |
The number of opportunities for scientists to initiate a dialogue with policymakers is increasing and European initiatives and formalised science-policy processes are becoming more streamlined. However, despite the opportunities and obvious benefits of scientific engagement within policy processes, it is often difficult for scientists to know how to get started, where to look or who to engage.
This week-long workshop aims to give scientists an in-depth overview of the European political system and the pathways that they can take to engage in science for policy processes. It provides participants with techniques and strategies that they can use when talking with decision-makers and steps to overcome some of the barriers that exist between the two communities. This workshop is more likely to appeal to researchers or scientific organisations who would like to engage in the European policymaking process or increase the impact of their research but may also interest those who would like to transition into a policy role or make new connections. |
